Tiji Jojo Brings Post-BAD HOP Momentum to ZEROTOKYO for Urban Jam

Tokyo’s nightlife is getting another major hip-hop takeover as Tiji Jojo prepares to headline Urban Jam at ZEROTOKYO in Shinjuku on September 26.

The former BAD HOP member will appear as the night’s special live performer, leading a lineup that brings together several major names from Japan’s current club and hip-hop scenes.

Joining Tiji Jojo in Z HALL will be DJ CHARI, DJ TATSUKI, DJ KANJI, DJ NORIO & DJ LUKE and DJ NOGU, with Julius Iwata handling visuals.

The event arrives during an important period in Tiji Jojo’s solo career, following the release of his second album LONG LIVE LOUD and his first solo performance at Tokyo’s legendary Nippon Budokan earlier this year.

From BAD HOP to a New Solo Chapter

Tiji Jojo spent roughly a decade as part of BAD HOP, the Kawasaki crew that became one of the defining forces in modern Japanese hip-hop.

BAD HOP officially ended its run with its massive final concert at Tokyo Dome on February 19, 2024, but the group’s members have continued building individual careers.

For Tiji Jojo, that transition has developed into a serious solo run.

After releasing FNF in 2025, he followed with the 15-track LONG LIVE LOUD on May 29, 2026.

The album includes “Night Heist,” “Misfit,” “Loudy,” “Top Boy,” “Math,” “Nightmare” and “Talk To Me,” alongside collaborations including Tete on “Trust Me,” Candee on “Manga” and MIKADO on “Do It Right Now.”

That momentum carried into his June 19 solo show at Nippon Budokan, giving Tiji Jojo one of the biggest stages of his career outside BAD HOP.

Urban Jam now brings him back into a completely different environment.

Instead of an arena-scale performance, fans will have an opportunity to see him inside the much more intimate and high-energy atmosphere of ZEROTOKYO.

DJ CHARI, DJ TATSUKI and DJ KANJI Join the Lineup

Urban Jam isn’t being built around Tiji Jojo alone.

DJ CHARI and DJ TATSUKI are also scheduled to perform. The pair have become deeply connected to Japan’s modern hip-hop movement through collaborations with rappers across multiple generations of the scene.

DJ KANJI joins them following his own major live performances, while DJ NORIO and DJ LUKE of Tokyo Young Vision bring another connection to Tokyo’s younger generation.

DJ NOGU completes the main DJ lineup.

Across ZEROTOKYO’s additional floors, the night expands further with DJs and performers including BUMP, NOB, ARIKUN, MUN, KEI, MASASS, Razzy, Minato, KAZBONGO, Kon and others.

The venue is describing Urban Jam as a night of “100% pure hip-hop,” combining Japanese and international hip-hop through live performances and DJ sets.

Tiji Jojo Returns to the Tokyo Club Floor

The timing makes Tiji Jojo’s appearance particularly interesting.

His Nippon Budokan performance represented the arena side of his growing solo career. Urban Jam offers almost the opposite experience — putting the rapper directly back into Tokyo nightlife with the audience much closer to the performance.

It also continues the connection between former BAD HOP members and Tokyo’s wider club culture after the crew’s breakup.

ZEROTOKYO has increasingly become an important location for large-scale hip-hop nights in Shinjuku, with its multiple floors allowing major live performances and smaller DJ sets to happen under the same roof.

For fans of Japanese hip-hop, September 26 should therefore offer more than another Tiji Jojo performance.

It’s another snapshot of where Tokyo hip-hop currently stands: former BAD HOP members developing their individual careers, established DJs sharing lineups with a younger generation, and club spaces continuing to connect those different parts of the scene.

Urban Jam takes place September 26 at ZEROTOKYO in Kabukicho, Shinjuku. Doors open at 11 p.m., with Z HALL opening at midnight.
