AFB Brings JP THE WAVY, Loco, Sik-K, Kaneee & More Together for AFB IS HERE®

Tokyo-based creative platform AFB has brought together some of the most exciting names from Japanese, Korean, Chinese and American hip-hop for its first compilation album, AFB IS HERE®.

Released on September 18, the 12-track project pushes AFB beyond its fashion roots and deeper into music and international street culture, connecting artists and producers from four different scenes through newly created collaborations.

The lineup is stacked. Japanese artists including JP THE WAVY, Skaai, Kaneee, MIKADO, Only U, SpiderWeb and Gliiico appear alongside Korean names including Loco, Sik-K, HAON, Kid Milli, BLASÉ and GEMINI. Chinese artist Chalky Wong also joins the project, while American contributors include Camo!, Draft Day and sixbill.

Production adds another international dimension. Working behind the boards are names including F1LTHY, ineedmorebux, Lil Moshpit, DJ DISK and Kimmy gone.

Tokyo Meets the World

Rather than assembling a collection of unrelated tracks, AFB IS HERE® was conceived around artists from different countries creating new music together.

That approach is immediately visible across the tracklist.

JP THE WAVY connects with American producer F1LTHY on “ISOGIASHI,” while F1LTHY also produces “IN AFB WE TRUST,” bringing together Sik-K, HAON, NOWIMYOUNG and JMIN.

Another major collaboration, “GET DRUNK, GET MONEY!,” links JP THE WAVY, Loco and Camo! over production from ineedmorebux.

Elsewhere, Kaneee and GEMINI team up for “WEEKEND,” while Loco joins Japanese trio Gliiico for the closing track “U-TURN.”

The result positions Tokyo as the meeting point for a much wider Asian and international hip-hop network.

Only U and Kid Milli Connect on “ICHIBAN”

One of the project’s clearest examples of that cross-border approach is “ICHIBAN,” pairing Japanese rapper Only U with South Korea’s Kid Milli.

Produced by DJ DISK, the song received an official music video filmed in Korea and directed by Joy Inagawa of GHAMTAPE.

The visual extends the idea behind AFB IS HERE® beyond the music itself, connecting Japanese and Korean artists through fashion, visual culture and hip-hop.

“ICHIBAN” is also set to be only the beginning of the visual rollout, with additional music and videos from the compilation expected to follow.

AFB Takes Over Shinjuku

The project was celebrated in Tokyo on September 19 with the AFB IS HERE® THE 1ST COMPILATION ALBUM RELEASE EVENT.

The daytime event ran at Zepp Shinjuku from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., bringing together JP THE WAVY, Loco, BLASÉ, MIKADO, Kaneee, Only U, Camo!, Draft Day, SpiderWeb, sixbill, Chalky Wong, Gliiico and several other artists connected to the project.

The celebration then moved to ZEROTOKYO for an afterparty beginning at 11 p.m., with Lil Moshpit, Kimmy gone, DJ DISK, Vlot, nasthug, MANDO and others on the lineup.

For AFB, AFB IS HERE® is bigger than a compilation. It demonstrates how closely Tokyo’s new generation of hip-hop, fashion and street culture is becoming connected with scenes in Seoul, China and the United States.

With JP THE WAVY working alongside F1LTHY, Only U connecting with Kid Milli, Kaneee joining GEMINI and Loco appearing across multiple collaborations, AFB IS HERE® captures a Japanese hip-hop scene increasingly operating without borders.
